Bay Street Wire

Privacy Policy

Effective: September 7, 2026

Who we are

Bay Street Wire (baystreetwire.com) is published by Charles & Roe Inc., an Ontario, Canada company, through its media division, Stimp Media. This policy explains what we collect when you visit, why, and how to reach us. It is written to comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect when you read the site

Very little. This site has no reader accounts, no sign-up forms, no comment system, no advertising network, no analytics scripts and no tracking cookies. When you load a page, our hosting provider records the standard server log entry that every website generates: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Those logs are used for security and troubleshooting and are kept only for a short period.

Email you send us

If you write to our editors, corrections desk or any address on this domain, we keep your message and address so we can reply and keep a record of corrections and complaints. We do not add you to any mailing list. We do not send newsletters or marketing email from this site; if that ever changes, it will be opt-in with a working unsubscribe link, as Canada’s anti-spam law requires.

Who we share it with

Our hosting and network providers (Fly.io and Cloudflare) process traffic to serve the site and hold the server logs described above. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we only disclose it if the law requires us to.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email editors@baystreetwire.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This site is a news publication for a general audience. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Links and changes

Articles link to other websites, whose privacy practices are their own. When we change this policy we update the effective date at the top of this page. Questions about our editorial process are answered on theEditorial Standards & Disclosurespage.
